What an amazing gentlemen’s store owned by a true gentleman, Howard Thrash! I first visited HG Thrash a few years ago when I came from South Carolina to visit my son at Texas Tech and received a call from a group of bankers in Chicago saying they were ready to meet with me on a very important transaction, and I needed to fly directly from Lubbock to Chicago. The problem? I had no dress clothes with me in Lubbock. I went to this store and told Howard that I needed a miracle because I’m hard to fit and had a $170 million deal in Chicago waiting on me. He promptly fitted me with a suit, had it tailored and pressed, picked out shirts and ties, and I was on my way! I have gone back to this store to see — and purchase — items on each trip back to Lubbock to see my son. This week I am in Lubbock for the last time to see my son graduate, and I just had to stop by the store for one last look — and purchase — and to thank Howard. There aren’t many stores left like this in America. Support them. Their focus on quality, attention to detail and customer service are unparalleled. Oh, and the “rest of the story”? I looked like a million bucks on my Chicago trip and landed the $170 million deal!
