Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Circa-1950 fast-food chain for counter-serve burgers, some stacked with multiple patties.

Thanks for the cold burger! The cheese wasn’t even melted. Cashier on drive-thru doesn’t even repeat your order or give you your total. She just takes your card, gives it back and closes the window. What happened to customer service? This place used to be a good, solid Whataburger years ago. Now it’s mediocre at best. I guess the good old days are over.

Ive been to a many whataburgers over the years, many good, many bad, but this is perhaps the greatest experience Ive ever had in a fast food restaurant.Times were tough, the Ferrari was in the shop, my Balenciagas were not yet delivered, and my parents had reduced my weekly allowance to a measly $1500. I sympathized with my poor friends. So there I was, driving in my Lambo, with Tyrone on the aux listening to Ocean Eyes. All of a sudden, Tyrone leans over and says to me Yo dawg, pull up for some chicken strips (AHHHHHH). So there we are, in the drive thru behind some Mexicans asking to see the dollar menu. Seeing as the line is not moving, I grew impatient.Just then, this handsome young man with an angelic aura approaches Tyrone and I. His demeanor reflected that of a greek god, and a gaze that could melt any woman (or man). Upon realizing this, Tyrone began to whimper, as this employees sheer manliness drew closer to us. Before I could say anything, Tyrone was gone (just like his father lol). But alas, the employee treated me with such unforeseen kindness and benignity. He was what all employees must aspire to be. This man, no, this God amongst men, greeted me and blessed me with the knowledge of his name: Gabriel Aleman. I instantly knew I would never forget this moment, it would stay with me for the rest of my life. He has made a loyal customer of me. I had some chicken strips.Edit: Tyrone’s father came back with the milk. Proof in image below.

Terrible service is when you stand 5 minutes inside the store and no one asks you how they can assist you. Everyone working there is minding their business and none of them care about the customers that are inside the store. Not even the managers make an effort to greet the customers that walk in and make sure they’re taken care of. The food is good but the service is sub par.
