Quick Update…I was just charged $7 for having the audacity to speak to one of their magnificent (and I use the term loosely) agents. They are the most expensive, and now the most money hungry. Please reconsider other options. This is not so much a review of this particular place, rather a review of Verizon in general. It quite literally is a tale of two companies. Their phone service has always been great (although I think the other providers have caught up). The problem with Verizon is their customer service. You will wait for quite some time (our average was 45 minutes for the off-shore Call Center to respond) to speak to a real person who can’t really help you with your problem. I say that because they have repeatedly lied to us regarding changes we asked to have made to our account. For example, we were told that we qualified for the Over 65 plan, only to find out sometime later that there is no Over 65 plan, and we were stuck with $105 in data overages. And the kicker is there were no notes on our account about this, and we were stuck. There were other instances about them playing fast and loose with the truth, such as the time we were told not to pay a particular bill only to be taken to collections a month later. Bottom line, please don’t trust anything they tell you. Get it in writing. We had enough and left them. Please be careful.
