The Geneva Historical Society’s museum tells the story of the growth and development of this small Finger Lakes city over 300 years. Located in an historic house, the museum has furnished period rooms, a children’s discovery space (closed through the end of 2020), and exhibits and archives that explore community history from the time of the native Seneca through the tumult of the 20th century to the present.

I was here for a meeting of area archives and library folks. I did have a look around the collections, some great displays and exhibits! These are pics of one display, a fellow who was in an African American unit in WWII. If you haven’t explored your local history or thought about it much, do, history happened right in your area, not just in distant places 😉

Wish they had new stuff, it’s all great but who uses this stuff, books can be read apparently. Great place to take the old kids

If you enjoy learning this is a great place to start. The program on J.T.Wells & Sons was very well presented. I also had two of the best home made cookies. Wish I could have the receipts.
