This historical sites is one of my favorites, it’s so interesting even for young ages, to see this old house. It’s really neat to see FDR’s wheeled chair too. The tour guide did a really good job and the grounds are beautiful and huge! It’s really neat to look down at the Hudson River.

The history of this beautiful place is a great reason to visit but many people don’t know about the extensive trail system that connects the prominent properties of the area. I would highly recommend visiting the house and museum but also taking the Hyde Park trail 2.7 mi north to the Vanderbilt Mansion. The grounds of both properties are exquisitely kept. The National Park Service does a fantastic job.

This place is definitely a gem of NY! The house and presidential library are closed because of Covif, but the grounds and trails are open to walk and enjoy. This was President and Mrs. Roosevelt’s piece of Heaven on earth. Highly recommended!!
