You know that warning every car dealer gives you about how taking your car to Pep Boys is at your own risk? Unfortunately, after taking my other car here for several years I took my new used BMW here for a simple oil change and change of breaks. 7 mo later there was a loud clanging followed by a bill for $1800. The BMW dealer found that Pep Boys hadn’t put the emergency break back in its proper place and it caused that much damage to the wheel. Pep Boys took responsibility and offered to refund the cost of the repair that day – $798, but said they have a claims department that handles anything more than that. The claims department has done nothing about this. Even more, the people who took responsibility for the damage that day told their claims department something completely different, apparently. Oddly, the claims department makes decisions without ever even talking with the customer – they only go by what the store tells them! It was supposedly being looked back into but no one has gotten back to me for weeks now. IN SUMMARY – Go here are your own risk! I had been a customer with my prior vehicle for 5 years, didn’t matter to them! I will never go to another Pep Boys in my entire life and I’ll be sure to tell everyone I know about the risk of going to Pep Boys when car repairs comes up in conversation. It’s utterly ridiculous.

I brought my car here on Sunday for service. I dealt with Matthew who was absolutely amazing. I went to another location on Saturday and was extremely disappointed with the service I received there. Matthew made up for that experience and more. He was pleasant from the time I stepped in the store. I needed a lot of work done and he explained everything to me and gave me a rough estimate of the cost. He called me twice as he was working on the car to give me updates which was very much appreciated. He even helped me find coupons to help lower the cost. He was overall amazing and helpful. I will definitely be coming back here for any car related issues that I may have in the future.
