It’s been a couple months since I took my ’99 4runner, supercharged, 5 speed, 4wd in to have Bill at Eagle Transmission figure out a problem Toyota couldn’t. I was out of town and my wife had it towed to the dealer. The truck was getting stuck sporadically OUT of gear. I had many miles on the clutch (pressure plate, clutch disc, throw out bearing, SLAVE CYLINDER, pilot bearing ,etc…)so I said to go ahead in replacing all clutch components in hopes of fixing the problem; it did not. A few days later, it was stuck out of gear. Called Bill, asked him to send someone for it (tow price $85, very fair). He drove it, said it was hydraulic, something not done right due to a complete parts list on the Toyota bill. He spent an hour diagnosing, and then went on to fix the problem. I’ve known Bill for 20 years, he’s experienced, competent and honest. I find Bill both serious about his work and about standing behind his work. Techs (not parts changers)like Bill are getting hard to find….Appreciate the few we have.

Bill is very fair, honest and to the point and will never BS you or waste your time. I never felt judged for being a woman or trans by any of the staff. Very friendly people. That being said, the quality, timeliness and affordability of the work is unprecedented and almost unreal. My front tie-rod, ball joint, rear driver-side break, rotor and caliper were replaced, the cost came to $842 after tax, $500 LESS than Mr. Tire wanted to charge. Mr. Tire told me as well that ny transmission was likely shot, Eric recommended Eagle Transmission to me, and Bill assured me my transmission was fine. My check engine light was just due to a blown fuse this entire time! Thank heavens I no longer have to choose between the cost of a new transmission or a new car. All of the work was done in mere hours after I dropped off my Buick. I will return to Eagle Transmission for any auto issues in the future.

This gentleman was very helpful for my situation. I needed some minor parts to fix a transmission that I had apart. He not only gave me the parts I was looking for but also showed me how it worked and what to look for when I had it apart. I am a hands on person and like to learn new things. Very much appreciated the knowledge sharedUpdate – sent vehicle to him for transmission rebuild. Went to pick vehicle up and they said it was all finished and they test drove down highway (no they didn’t it had flat tires) wouldn’t shift out of 1st. Second attempt of picking up days later, drove vehicle a few blocks and transmission failed again. It turned out the valve body was bad in trans. a part that was included in the 4k plus rebuild price that wasn’t new. The old one was used. Feel like we got the run around here. If you pay for new parts and something to be done, you expect just that and unfortunately that’s not what happened here.
