My old iPhone kept crashing. Repeatedly. Two pictures and it turned into a brick. Not until I returned home and connected it to the charging cord did it wake up. After going through this many times in a single week, I knew I had to take action. Thinking it maybe needed a new battery, I checked out both the local Apple store and the local Best Buy. No reservations for service were available at either place any time soon. FTR, I’m a senior and this is the first time I’d ever had to deal with such a problem on my own.Not knowing what else to do, I decided to drop into my local Verizon store on 337 Flatbush Avenue. The best decision I could have made by far. No reservations required. I just walked in, stated the problem, and asked about a new iPhone. Mark was working that day. Since I am part of a Verizon family plan, he checked my account and yes, I qualified for a new iPhone. I was shown the recommended iPhone replacement, and I was sold. (I had gone online the evening before to assess my options and Mark was right on)!Without my saying another word, he asked if my old iPhone was fully uploaded to the iCloud, and I said I’d uploaded it right before I walked over to the store. He said, “Good”, and without hesitation, offered to download the iCloud to my new iPhone, along with the new ios 14. A couple of hours later. I picked up my new iPhone and was thrilled to see all my screen icons clearly displayed.The next morning, however, when I checked the battery setting, I saw the iPhone still needed to do some more downloading. So I called the Verizon store, spoke to a real person, explained what I’d found, and added I only had spotty WiFi access. He immediately said to bring the new iPhone in and they’d be more than happy to complete the download using the store’s WiFi. This day Sanders and Bob were in charge. I did as was suggested and an hour later later I returned and was handed my new iPhone. I checked the battery setting, etc., and it was clear my iPhone was fully both downloaded and uploaded. Instead of a brick of an iPhone, I now had a fully operational new iPhone.To say I was delighted with the service this store provided would be an understatement. I was thrilled. I went from a brick to a brand new iPhone so easily and with such superb customer service, I could hardly believe it. Going forward, this is where I’ll go when I need iPhone assistance. KUDOS and MANY thanks to all of you, in this case Mark, Sanders, and Bob. This is the way business should be done for sure!!!
