Just your typical gun shop. Great selection of firearms. Very cowboy themed store, rustic and true to the west. Old salesman’s behind the counter was very mixed when we asked if any 38 special was in stock. He friendly told us they were all out but reassured us that shipments come in a certain date and was just a friendly guy overall. As much as this particular shop is friendly and nice, the vibe from the spring location is a lot better in my personal opinion.

A while ago I bought a purse for my wife and paid $250 because it has a leather tag that says genuine leather and they sold it as a purse made of leather. Turns out the purse is not leather, IT’S FAKE SYNTHETIC, these kind of purses should be sold for $35 not $250! What a scam.

I used to love this store, it’s a Houston (Katy) icon, but I just got hung up on by a rude / short fused sales rep. He kept repeating the phrase the product “is on the website” like I would call to ask him if it was on the website. Of course the product is on the website, duh. I wanted to pick it up in store. I’m by no means a “karen” and I hope it was just a bad day for the rep, but Carter’s country can and should do better. Shame. There is a lot of competition for sporting goods and if Carter’s country wants to remain the legend it used to be, they need to get with the times and deliver the service people deserve. Edit: I just read through a bunch of Carter’s recent reviews and I see that I’m not the only one having problems. I also see that the manager keeps apologizing. Saying you’re sorry and then repeating the same rude service is just lip service to appease the customer. Your customers are telling you that you’re doing a bad job. Stop apologizing and change your attitudes.
