I went in to order my cake a week in advance. Everyone was very nice and helpful. While putting in my order they worked with me well and seemed to take my requests seriously. I signed off on everything, but noticed that the ELITE icing was selected for my icing when I got home. I called back to see if it could be fixed and the guy on the phone was nice about it…or so I thought. I told him I wanted real whipped cream instead of the ELITE. And he said that the elite was whipped icing. I repeated that I wanted whipped cream and he again assured me that the elite was what I wanted. I just trusted that he knew what he was talking about. Fast forward- a week later is my daughters first birthday and when I pick up my cupcakes and the fuchsia color I requested was more of a maroon color, but it was too late to fix. Stike 1. I get home and taste the icing and it is not whipped cream. It’s definitely too sweet and not what I had in mind for my daughter. Strike 2. On top of that, the icing tasted like pure dye. It was so gross all my guests where wiping it off before eating the cake. Their customer service is fair. The cake tasted really good. However, the whole icing situation is poor! There has to be a way to improve the taste of the elite icing.
