Academy Sports + Outdoors has updated store hours to allow for intensive cleaning. We feel it is important to stay open to serve our customers during this challenging time and are working to do that as safely as possible. Our new hours are Monday-Saturday: 10am CST to 7pm CST, and Sundays 11am CST to 7pm CST. Select stores open for curbside pickup only. Check the Academy website for more details.

It was the worst experience I have ever had at an Academy. First thing said to me and my kids, just to let you know, we are closing in an hour. What are you saying? Don’t come in? Do you want our business or not? Then, we went to the fishing gear to get a pole, but the clerk told us we couldn’t buy it there and get it spooled.. We had to go to the front first. Well, the line to pay was at least 40 people long, and only had 2 cashiers. Terrible customer service! Keep this up and you will lose many customers. You just lost 3.

One of my favorite a stores to shop because I love sports and outdoor products. On this occasion I ordered online and used curbside pickup…or tried to use it. After receiving notification that my order was ready for pickup I arrived, parked in the designated spot and texted the number given me. Received a response that an associate was on it. Five, ten, then fifteen minutes go by and nobody showed up. I went inside and finally got my order after showing my ID to 2 different people. They need some work on this part of their store offerings.

Wayne and Frank (managers) helped me out. Best customer service I’ve ever had at any store or Academy (Vance Jackson location). They went above and beyond to make sure my pool purchase experience was a happy one. I don’t like to recommend places to shop but these managers make it gold. An extra Thanks to muscle man Ramon.
