Every visit I’ve had to the Fort Stanwix monument has been a great one. There is a lot to learn from this location and the site located next to the monument offers a lot of information and I do think they offer tours as I have received one by folks on site. They can offer such interesting locations within the fort showing our history locked in our era. It is also incredibly well maintained. I think all who are looking for a fun place to stop while you’re in Rome, this is definitely a good location for it.

We stumbled upon Fort Stanwix by accident when we saw an exit sign on the interstate that said Rome, NY, and traveling from Rome GA we couldn’t resist the urge to go. The surprise was the hidden gem that we found here. The museum, rebuilt fortifications, and staff here where great! I would definitely recommend a stop there if you’re into history and such. I found photos I took of the city park, but not of the fort, unfortunately.

This is a perfect place for such a time as this. History is being ignored, time to double down and cherish our founders sacrifices that are timeless.
