Established in 1988. Pet Supplies Plus was started in 1988 in Redford, Michigan. There are over 400 stores in more than 30 states, with more than half of them being individually owned and operated.The chain’s founders, Harry Shallop and Jack Berry had a terrific idea. They wanted to bring supermarket-style convenience and value to the pet food and supply industry. By building stores in local neighborhoods with smaller footprints, Jack and Harry made it easier for our neighbors to shop. Over the years, their ideals have served us well. Which is why, as we look to grow in the future, we will continue to provide our neighbors with the easiest shopping experience to help them better care for their pets.

Check Expiration Date on Bags!Since this place opened I have bought our dog food here vs the other store in town because of the better prices.However, I went in today 1-18-21 and bought the normal bag of dog food (Natural Balance) and noticed that it was very discounted. I got to the counter and asked why it was so discounted and she said that they would no longer carry that specific kind. I also asked her if maybe it was because it was close to expiration date. We got to looking at expiration and sure enough it was expired. Almost a year old!! The bag’s best by date was 3/22/2020. I was pretty upset and they couldn’t give me a good reason why they had food on the shelves that old. PLEASE check the date on the bags! I wonder how many bags I bought that I didn’t check before that might have been expired and fed to my fur baby. :/ They have lost my business.

This place is great got four neon tetras, two shrimp and a snail. They all were very lively and swimming around in the tanks they have to show you the fish. Its been almost a week since i got all my water pets and with all proper transportation and care they have all recover from there near death experience with the net. And i thought one of my fish was gonna die because it lost color but has regained all of it back. People were very nice and when asked questions if they didn’t know they asked other people to make sure information was correct.
