This is a great volunteer-run store to find needed and interesting items for the home and all proceeds go to provide affordable home ownership opportunities for families …

It is a very respectable store to donate to and shop at, but got to becareful of all the electronics they do accept.

I discovered this store about a year and a half ago. What keeps me going back? The professional, warm and welcoming customer service of Gia. She makes each visit a pleasure with her personality, her helpfulness and the inspirational music she plays for the customers softly in the background. Definitely a major part of the shopping experience! The store is a treasure box if you frequent, take your time to look and and are willing to add sweat equity at times.

I absolutely love the store especially that the proceeds go to support this very important nonprofit. My son volunteered there when he was in high school and it was an amazing opportunity to learn about what the most important thing is to donate, recycle, support, share and uplift. But what is the main difference between donating to this organization and others is the people that work there and help you. My personal experience and my friends experiences have been that when they buy Furniture and fixtures from the store the employees like Gia help you with the personal attention. They literally physically help carry it to your car answer questions and help you every step of the way. Even on days that I haven’t made a purchase and just go in to look it’s wonderful to see a positive vibe from employees like Gia helping other customers make purchases and donate alike. They also do in-store fundraisers like raffles to win a bicycle so this is a store you want to keep on your list. It’s located in New Rochelle-parking in front and if you make a donation they can give you a receipt. When you go in and say hi to Gia and I’m sure she will assist you with donations and purchases alike; And remember, the proceeds go to this very important cause!

After many sketchy experiences, I’m finally making a complaint against the manager at the New Rochelle restore. Several times I’ve asked about furniture without prices and feel I’ve been sized up for who I am before receiving a price. This time I asked about buying a desk, and the manager simply took the price off it and quadrupled it right in front of me, casually claiming that it hadn’t been priced right. The manager of the store runs it like a free-for-all and bases pricing decisions on the way people look when the opportunity presents itself. Im a frequent customer at many of the Restores in the metropolitan area and happily support their cause but this latest incident is such a blatant violation of business ethics that I had to make a complaint against her with the regional manager. Other Habitat for Humanity restore thrift shops in the region are all run quite a bit more professionally. Items at other stores are never put on the floor without prices, and the price tags they use are professionally printed and list the type of item on the sticker and the date so there’s no confusion or impropriety. The New Rochelle store needs an upgrade, starting with a new manager and better operating practices
