I will make it my mission to visit a Blue Bottle if I know there is one in the area. It is my favorite coffee on the PLANET. I am a huge New Orleans Style fan and will buy it in the grocery store if I can find that little cute milk carton.It is a little pricier than the old Buck, but I mean…come on. Quality right?We got lucky that there was one close by during our previous stay in Oakland. It is located just a block or so from Jack London Square in a tiny building with a giant Blue….you guessed it….Bottle painted on the side. There are a couple of bar tops to sit at and a couple tables outside, but no gimmicks inside. Just plain old excellent coffee. You can also order some snacks here too…I suggest the Waffle. It is crunchy and sweet without need for any syrup. It is the perfect size to walk around and eat while exploring the area or driving in your car.I need Blue Bottle on tap. At home. Please?Okay fine, how about a Blue Bottle in the Sacramento area? Please?!

This was my first and last time visiting. After waiting nearly 15 minutes for my basic coffee order, and after watching three groups who ordered after me get served, I attempted to politely check on the status of my order. I should mention that I was on the way to visit family in the hospital and didn’t want to be late.Having worked in the service industry for 10+ years, and having served my fair share of coffee myself, I know the difference between an impatient person being rude during a rush, and someone who’d been waiting patiently, checking on their order out of concern.The response I got from the person passing out coffee was so unnecessary dismissive and curt in front of the other customers, that I’m actually taking the time to write a review when I NEVER leave negative reviews. Coffee was delicious, but not good enough to overshadow that awful service experience.
