Banana Republic is NOT a bank, your customer is NOT supposed to expect it is going to be a credit card account, when all you said is an account. Are you for real that it is the customer’s responsibility to figure it out what it is ONLY by reading the agreement on the pos machine? For God sake, the pos machine’s screen is too small for reading such user agreement. You should tell the customer what it is before you ask them to sign anything! Now I have to close this Banana Republic credit card and my credit score will be affected. Banana Republic should stop doing business like this!Beware when Banana Republic asks you to sign up an account, it’s going to be a credit card account not just a regular loyalty program thing. I find it outrageous that Banana Republic dares to ask the customers to sign and after all is approved then inadvertently tell you it is a credit card account.When I asked the sales why he didn’t tell me it is a credit card application at the very beginning, he said he already told me it is an account and pointed at the little screen of the pos machine and said that I’m supposed to read it carefully to figure out it is for a credit card. Pos machine?! Seriously?!When I brought this to the manager’s attention, the manager was not very sympathetic with the situation and didn’t even apologize. This is so outrageous and I could not believe this is how Banana Republic handles its business.
