Great stopping place to stretch your legs and observe wildlife with the family.

It can be a bit smelly and they can be loud but it’s a mesmerizing sight.

Lots of parking and plenty of space for people to see.

So cool to see the seals but good grief they smelled SO bad! Even with a mask I was having a hard time with the stink. BUT that said, it was really neat to see these animals in the wild and take in how massive they are. Definitely worth going here and even though the parking lot was full it wasn’t difficult getting a good view of the seals. If you find yourself driving along highway 1 then put this on your list of places to stop. No matter what time of year there will always be lots to see

If you are looking for a fantastic stop along Highway one, this is surely a site you won’t want to miss! You will see literally hundreds of elephant seals scattered across the beach line. You will see alpha elephant seals taking on younger males that think they deserve the right to meet! You will see females aggressively chasing the alpha males. You will see alpha males asserting their dominance over all other elephant seals. You could seriously spend hours standing and watching these elephant seals.

Very entertaining and lots to learn about elephant seals. Also from here you can find a trail to the North along the coast. I believe it’s 5 miles, I only walked 1.6 miles and turned around. If you have the time seems worth going the whole way
