Never have I ever SPLIT MY PANTS DOWN MY BACKSIDE WHILE AT WORK….. until Tuesday morning. This has to go down as one of the most embarrassing moments of my life, HOWEVER lucky for me there was a MADEWELL downstairs from my office. I tied a sweater around my waist and ran downstairs to Madewell. I was met by a young lady named Brenna, after gracefully explaining my dilemma and handing over my; now destroyed favorite Madewell jeans, we both shared an endearing laugh and went to work trying to find me a replacement pair of pants. Brenna shocked me completely, not only was she so attentive and compassionate to my unique situation but she seemed to really care about my experience. Brenna was very knowledgeable about which jeans would be most similar to my old ones and even went as far as to look up to see if she could find my old jeans in the warehouse. Of course I ended up buying 3 additional pairs of jeans and a belt. I also saw a great pair of shoes and some new overalls that I wanted to buy but the Santa Monica store didn’t have my size, so like the amazing girl Brenna is, she called around and found me both items in my size. Lastly, Brenna completely changed my day when she went ahead and comped me one of the three pairs of jeans I bought as a kind gesture. That’s right, she gave me a new pair for free. I was all smiles at that point. She was amazing, I absolutely feel lucky that Brenna was there that day. She really turned my day around, I appreciate her more than she’ll probably ever know. Thanks to Ashley too for helping me a couple days later find a shoe from a store in TX, she was ridiculously kind and worked her magic.

I’m a huge madewell shopper and this location is super convenient, as it is near my job. Unfortunately, while I love their clothes, shoes, accessories, etc., the customer service at this particular store is terrible, which ruins the retail experience. To be fair, the store is generally well stocked and organized, and NOT ALL of the employees are bad, a few can actually be helpful and somewhat friendly (I’m thinking particularly of one girl who usually works the fitting room–sorry I never caught her name). But the majority will ignore you or be very short/unwelcoming. My last visit was enough to convince me to never come back. When looking at my receipt, I see that Petra was her name, and boy was she awful. Super condescending and full of attitude when I asked a simple question as I was checking out. Enough to the point that it made me uncomfortable. Please re-train this girl and the majority of your staff! Your losing loyal customers who would rather drive east to century city than shop here! Thank you!
