Great prices on everything and he stocks top shelf brands and parts!

I waited 45 minutes, then gave up and went to the Benicia bike shop.

Small shop, very brief selection.

Chris is very helpful and took my bike in for repairs at a reasonable price. I was out of there in 15 minutes. Highly recommended!

Left my bicycle with them about 3 months ago, maybe 4 months. The back brake cable needed some adjustment but mainly I had just bought it used and wanted an expert to look it over, lube what needed to be lubed, replace what needs replacing, etc. Didn’t hear anything back so about 2 months ago I sent a text. When I finally heard back, I was told he was waiting on innertubes and they had just finally come in. I acknowledged the reply and waited. A month and a half later, I had to text again. Told the guy I wanted to pick up my bicycle and make arrangements to be there a few days later. As I was getting ready to go over there on the day we decided, I got a text saying he was closing early, come Tuesday. This is Tuesday. Texted this am to find out if the store is actually open or if he is still working by appointment. Never got an answer.I understand the pandemic has made everyone’s lives a little more difficult. I don’t mind the long wait. I’m wiling to give people the benefit of doubt. I expect responses to inquiries the same day or at the least, a near-immediate reply stating estimate of response time.I’m very disappointed. I didn’t get an estimate or even a flat price before he started to work on it. I don’t have a clue what he will charge me. Do not like the idea of going to get it only to find he is charging me hundreds of dollars. I do not expect him to do that but, sheesh. Isn’t there a point where the clock starts to reverse and the cost is reduced a small amount every week I don’t have my bicycle? There should be…

Today was my second and last visit to Pegasus Bicycle Works. The first time I visited the store there seemed to be only one employee working. He was with another customer outside, on the sidewalk, working on his bicycle. I put my mask on and went inside browsing around. I seen it was about 50/50 split between new bikes and used bikes. I waited for the employee (let’s just call him Curly for fun because of his hairstyle and I like it better than employee) to get a free moment before I asked what was for sale and wehich ones were customers. the employee told me that most of those bikes were customers and they weren’t for sale and then told they only sell new bikes only I said oh okay and continued browsing can’t receiving looks why he was outside I guess I do understand keeping an eye on the store but it was to the point where he was almost nervous stressed out that I was in the store during business hours while I was open and then on one of his trips inside to get a tool he informed me without asking or without being prompted that most their bikes start at or the cheapest lowest price bike they had started at around the six $700 range and I was like okay and then pretty much same deal he went out and come back in and the bike that was in front of me he informed me that it was a 700 such dollar bike and to me I felt somewhat belittled but that could be my own personal stuff considering my current situation so I took it for what it was brushed it off continued on with my day and come back to try giving it another shot today of this evening I got there an hour before close there was a sign on the door that said knock lightly for service and some will come to help so I knocked no answer I checked the door was open I barely cracked it stuck my head in and said excuse me and the same man come from back where he could have heard my knock I believe and I was like hey do y’all sell a single patch cuz I got him go ahead thorn in my tire he said no we don’t I said I can’t I can’t get a single patch he said no sorry I didn’t ask actually after that door was shut and I was standing on the sidewalk and I was sitting there processing everything and he was standing there and I went back towards the door and he got there before I didn’t he opened I said is there you know you know where I should go in town or where I could go to grab a patch and his reply was not really enough said I will not be returning.
